INDONESIAN CULTURAL MASK FESTIVAL 2010 ( MAIN EVENT )
October 16th 2010-Evening Time The program will be held at The Cultural Stage “Cilimus 1928” at Prima resort SangkanhuripKuningan. The program is a main event of the INDONESAN CULTURAL MASKS FESTIVAL 2010. Gala performances and dinner that are exclusively presented with spectacular performances from Coreography, Stage Act, Live Music, Lighting and Multimedia, and will be attended by invited guests from the state, embassies, cultural institutions, art lover, etc.

Gundala-gundala Mask Dance
North Sumatera
This mask dance was adopted from a ritual prayer for the spirits of
the gods. To cleanse evil spirits from a village that is attacked by a pandemic or pest plagues. The dancers use varied kinds of masks in order for the gods to inhabit their bodies and expel the evil spirits. The musical instruments accompanying Gundala-Gundala Mask Dance are Ketengketeng, Serunai, Gendang drums, small and large Gongs, Kecapi flute and brass.
Hudoq Mask Dance
East Kalimantan
This mask dance comes from the Dayak Kenyah and Dayak Modang tribes. This dance is usually performed as an exorcism ritual in traditional ceremonies, such as the ceremonial growing season. The Hudog Mask Dance contains a meaning in every movement. The dance choreography has meaning in every single move and characters which are diversified in line with the ritual of the ceremony.
Cupak Gerantang Traditional Theatre
West Nusa Tenggara
Cupak Gerantang Traditional Theatre is one of the folklore in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. It is very popular in the society as a light entertainment that is performed and staged in special events. The original manuscript was written on papyrus with Jejawan letters and the Sasak language. The content derived from a story that was told in a song, and then improved as a written story that was composed in a traditional theatre to be better by the public. The story artistically dramatizes a patriotic hero that is sometimes interspersed with humor. The story expands to other Lombok islands, such as Mataram, Labuh Api, Bayan, Gangga, Lenek, and other villages. Cupak Gerantang story illustrates the evil, lazy and spiteful characteristics of the Cupak, while the noble, honest, bold and handsome knight is illustrated the characteristics of Gerantang.
Tenget Mask Dance

When Gajah Mada went to King Bali, he was very disappointed because King Bali’s face was very “Tenget” (daunting, yet divine, and cannot be seen). Gajah Mada asked for water spinach that is not cut so that he can tilt his head up to look at the king while eating the vegetable. The king acknowledged his trick and was raged onto executing a war between his soldier and Gajah Mada.
Guro Gudho Mask Dance

The journey of life for greatness will surely have many obstacles. However, in the laws of nature, the unjust will always be defeated by righteousness. In the legendary story of East Java, a Sudra caste warrior was searching for the knowledge of supernatural power, sorcery, and the constitution. In his journey, the warrior was tested with unjust circumstances but if everything is done based on sincerity, then the Guro Gudho (the unjust) is eliminated.

Falling in love is normal and human that everyone will experience. The happiness, excitement, sincerity, emotions, humors, sadness and morality are all contained in love. This is what implied in love between two human beings. Those feelings were poured into a work of a dance mask of Gagah, Alus, Gecul and Putri.
Cirebon Mask Dance
West Java
The Mask Dance was developed and expanded among the people of Cirebon and around the area before the Islamic religion entered. Sunan Kalijaga took advantage of the dance as a missionary endeavor to spread the Islamic religion. Therefore, many of the Cirebon mask are imbued by Islamic philosophies. The Cirebon Mask Dance has five dance principles, namely Panji, Samba, Rumyang, Tumenggung and Rahwana (Klana). Those five dances stand alone and are not biased if united with each other. All five have different characteristic and accompanied with different instruments.
Tunggal Mask Dance

Derived from a Betawi traditional mask art, Tunggal Mask is a classic Betawi Mask Dance which tells a human being with 3 personality traits that are disclosed in 3 mask characters, Panji, Kelana and Jingga. A calm and soft spoken personality is depicted in the mask of Panji. The flirtatious and mercurial personality is depicted in the mask of Kelana, and the mask of Jingga is characterized in a heroic, bold and resolute manner. These three characters are combined in the Betawi Mask Dance.
